An award-winning, immersive augmented reality and audio experience that showcases over 70 outdoor public art pieces in downtown Toronto.

ArtWalk 2.0 is a groundbreaking initiative that combines art and technology to create an unparalleled exploration of the area’s existing 70+ pieces of outdoor public art in downtown Toronto.

ArtWalk 2.0 expands upon the original online map and self-guided walking tour launched in 2021 by introducing a mobile audio component and augmented reality (AR). This enhanced version features over 70 artworks and six AR experiences, including iconic downtown Toronto landmarks such as the CN Tower and artworks by diverse artists from Canada and abroad.

ArtWalk serves as a dynamic showcase of Toronto's rich arts and culture scene, offering an innovative tourism experience. By curating and enhancing the downtown area's vibrant art offerings, this project engages both visitors and residents, boosting foot traffic for local businesses and enhancing Toronto's appeal as a premier tourism destination.

ArtWalk won a 2024 OBIAA award for Streetscaping & Public Realm Improvements, and a 2023 TABIA award for Innovation.

The ArtWalk 2.0 experience exemplifies successful collaboration. Central to its realization are the talented artists behind over 70 outdoor public art pieces that inspired ArtWalk, supported by generous funding from the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.
